At Home Learning

Here's what we've been up to lately in our learning at home. I keep forgetting to take pictures during our activities, so here are just a few.

This was found on pinterest and a big hit with Finley. I labeled 6 bags with letters (A-F) and put a certain number of counting bears in each bag. Then I would ask her, "How many bears are in bag A?" and so on. She would count them and find the sticker with the correct number on it and stick it on the paper. This activity was so easy to make and worked on letter recognition, counting, number recognition, and fine motor skills (peeling the stickers off).

A close-up shot.

The girls love retelling and acting out the story of The Three Little Pigs so we made this cute craft for them to play with.

This sassy girl is OBSESSED with throwing birthday parties. She still talks about her Rainbow Party and likes to "call" her friends to invite them to her party. She'll even ask Rowynn if she wants her to call all of her baby friends. Too funny! So anyway, since she has been begging for some decorations for her party, I hit up the dollar store and bought a plastic cupcake table cloth, party hats, pink paper plates, favor bags and some other party supplies for her to throw and re-throw parties. And let me tell you, she has LOVED every minute of her pretend parties!

Setting the table. She would name someone every time she put a plate down, "Mimi will sit here, and Papaw, and Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Sissy, Uncle Ben, RoRo....."

Blowing up balloons for her party. Silly girl!

Doing our daily calendar. We sing the days of the week song and count until we find the correct day.

Cute weather chart I found on Pinterest. We decided that today was warm & sunny!

Another pinterest find. I put stickers on paper and labeled bags for Rowynn to practice her counting skills.

Big sister wanted to play too even though she already knows her numbers. I also labeled some ping pong balls (dollar store) and had the girls match them up with the correct bag. Rowynn did a great job with this activity.

Having fun & learning!

Here is a cute video of Finley saying some of the verses she has memorized. She recently started Awanas (or Bear Church as she calls it) and I love it! She learns 1-2 verses a week and seems to enjoy herself in her class.

The verses she is saying in the video are:

"As for me and my house we will serve the Lord."
                               -Joshua 24:15

"God loved us and sent His son."
                             -1 John 4:10
