Last week we decorated our tree and then enjoyed some hot (or lukewarm for the girls) chocolate. The girls have done great about leaving the ornaments on the tree. It was a lot of fun looking through the ornaments we've collected throughout the years and all the meaning they have. I also set up a couple of child-friendly Nativity set for the girls to play with. Finley loves putting baby Jesus in His "house to go night-night." Hahaha!
We also made Christmas cookies. While they were baking we let the girls open the presents under our kitchen tree--their new ornaments! Finley was very excited to have a Cars (Lighting McQueen) ornament. Finley is totally in love with Cars. The other day I saw a cute pack of magnets in the dollar section of Target and let her pick between the Disney Princesses or Cars. And she choose Cars. Spunky girl, that one! Her Mimi & Papaw got her a Cars shirt the other day to sleep in and she wears it all the time. I can't wait to she what she thinks when she gets Cars 2 for Christmas from my parents. Rowynn got a Winnie the Pooh, which she tried to eat. We recently got them the Winnie the Pooh movie and it is precious! It's also been a big hit around here.
Last Sunday we joined our friends, the Sraders, at a Sounds of the Season concert held at a local church. It was a great way to introduce the girls to some holiday music. The choir did such an amazing job! It was an hour long, but we left after about 45 minutes, that's all the girls could manage! The clapped along, sang, and admired the lights!
Loving this time of year!
